Kaiser Quartett & Chilly Gonzales @Royal Festival Hall, London

The Canadian pianist and entertainer returns to London for his biggest UK show to date.

Accompanied by Hamburg's Kaiser Quartett, Chilly Gonzales performs material from his new album Chambers.

Using the string quartet as a sampler, Chambers re-imagines chamber music from the Romantic period as modern-day pop.

Known as much for his intimate piano touch as for his showmanship, Gonzales' playing is influenced by classical and jazz training, and even rap.

'Like a modern day Debussy, or the pretty bits of Aphex Twin'sDrukqs' (Sunday Times)

'Chilly by name, warm and wonderful by nature' (The Guardian)

'Watching Gonzales in action is never boring' (The Observer)

'An incredibly talented man' (Nick Grimshaw, BBC Radio 1)

'As well as being a brilliant [and] eccentric performer, he is an amazing pianist' (Matt Everitt, BBC 6 Music)

'He's very talented on the keys, and he writes amazing songs' (Greg James, BBC Radio 1)

'Stunning… someone quite special' (Fearne Cotton, BBC Radio 1)

'I think we could safely use the word genius.' (Annie Mac, BBC Radio 1)

'On a mission to bridge the gap between the classical and the pop worlds' (John Wilson, BBC Radio 4)
